The Galilee Chapel

As the site of the oldest college in Britain, the location has fostered musical creativity for over 1500 years. The existing building survives from the 11th century and is one of the most iconic churches in Wales.

St Illtud’s Church is the perfect home for the Early Voices Festival.

Visitors can experience many layers of history in St Illtud's Church, and some of the most striking pieces of evidence of its legacy are the Celtic stones. Dating from the 9th to the 11th centuries, they are housed in the recently restored Galilee Chapel and stand as a superb example of ancient craftsmanship.

During our Festival, St. Illtud’s ancient walls resonate once again with the sounds of early voices.
